Item Description
The Journal of Henry David Thoreau. Edited by Bradford Torrey and Francis H. Allen. Introduction by Walter Harding. Peregrine Smith Books / Gibbs M. Smith, 1984. 14 paperback volumes. A boxed set without the original box. The journal text comes from the last 14 volumes of the 20-volume set of Thoreau's writings, which was published by Houghton Mifflin in 1906. The introduction from Walter Harding first appeared with the 2-volume hardcover set of the same text, issued by Dover Publications in 1962. The individual volumes of this paperback set are now difficult to find, especially together. Their condition is above average. The spines are color faded and have a few dings; but otherwise, these books are in terrific shape. The first volume is SIGNED BY WALTER HARDING on the title page. Guaranteed, you may not find such a set, signed, out in the real world, today or in the near future. Go for it!
