About The Artist
"Emotion, to me, is what makes great art."
Leslea has been bringing her emotions to the canvas and her heart to the community for many years now. Her expressive paintings which range from happy landscapes to moody portraits are beloved by all and are a part of many private collections in Oakville, Toronto and the US.
Leslea's lifelong love of the visual arts led her to her early career as a graphic artist and illustrator and evolved into a career as a portrait artist and painter.
Leslea has been honoured with awards in Graphic design and Portraiture. She is also a certified teacher with the Royal Academy of Music and Art, and has designed art programs for elementary school children which follow the Ontario curriculum.
Leslea has taken courses with Canadian artists Douglas Edwards and Brian Atyeo and continues to take classes through The Scottsdale School of Art.
In 2016, Leslea found her ideal intersection of values, passion and opportunity to help others. She created 36 paintings and sold them to raise $36,000 for Covenant House in Toronto.
In 2020, Leslea did a second show in which she sold 45 paintings and raised $47,000 for Unites Way Halton and Hamilton.
Since then, Leslea's philanthropic nature and creative talents have raised funds and awareness to help the less fortunate in our community and beyond.
Leslea is driven by her heart to produce these beautiful works and to help improve the lives of others.
