About the Artist
Lynn Borysiuk was raised in Peterborough and Haliburton, the visual surroundings of which fueled her passion for landscape painting.
Lynn has been painting since she was a young child. Her artistic history began when her maternal Grandmother, an accomplished oil painter, fostered within her a deep appreciation of the visual arts. At a very young age, Lynn was exposed to other extraordinary Canadian artists, such as the late Ethel Curry of Haliburton, who encouraged Lynn to "see" things differently, to experiment with light and to pursue her love of painting.
Lynn's art encompasses a variety of subjects, from her great passion for landscapes, to her detailed and intricate still life pieces. She is inspired by high contrast visual images, and in particular, intense light value contrasts found in nature. She succeeds in capturing that effect in her work with her distinctive use of bold intense pigments.
Lynn has won awards in juried art exhibitions and her work is included in private collections throughout Canada and the United States. Lynn Borysiuk has studied the arts at the Ontario College of Art and Design, Haliburton School of Fine Art as well as numerous weekend workshops.
