Bidding Rules
By bidding in the Valhalla Elementary School auction, each bidder agrees to the following:
1. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. 2. All items are “as is” and any restrictions noted related to the item are nonnegotiable. The Valhalla Elementary School auction volunteers have attempted to catalog items correctly, but they neither warrant nor represent and, in no event, shall be responsible for the authenticity, condition, or validity of the description of the item. No statement made on the bidding website or catalog, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.
3. The auction item value listed is a good faith estimate of the value of the goods/services furnished. Items have not been appraised unless otherwise noted.
4. Restaurant certificates do not include alcohol, tax, or gratuities unless specified. 5. Unless otherwise specified, all auction gift certificates must be used within one year of the date of the auction.
6. The Valhalla Elementary School auction committee reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the auction.
7. A bidding extension feature has been enabled for this auction so that there is fair access to popular items. This feature will automatically prevent “sniper bidding” by extending the closing time for an item if it has a bid in the last five minutes prior to auction close.
8. Payment for items purchased must be made in full at the conclusion of the online auction via credit card. Auction volunteers will attempt to process all winning bids within one hour of closing.
9. Once winning bids have been processed and payment is complete, you will receive an email with pick up instructions.
10. Items must be picked up by the purchaser at Valhalla Elementary School during the time(s) and date(s) specified. Auction volunteers will only ship gift certificates and only to those winning bidders residing outside of Contra Costa County.
11. Each bidder agrees to release Valhalla Elementary School and Valhalla Elementary School Parent Faculty Association, including all of their officers, directors, members, volunteers, employees and agents and the item donor, from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions and causes arising out of or related to the possession, redemption, participation in, or other use of the item.
