Item Description

Always wanted to sing? Need a tune-up? Enjoy a month of private classical vocal lessons with Maryland instructor, Lindsay Nuesca.

“For those of you unfamiliar with my qualifications, I have sung all over the world, from Siberia to San Diego, and received my BA in vocal performance and an MM in vocal performance, music history, and literature from University of Florida. I specialized in Russian Romantic vocal music. I have taught students of all ages in private lessons, public school, daycare, and theater productions. I have done quite a bit of choral conducting as well. I taught chorus and drama in public school, and have directed theater choruses, church choirs, and children’s groups.

My favorite role to date has been the title role of Savitri by Holst. Other roles include the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas, both Second Lady and Third Lady in The Magic Flute, the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Just Jeanette from Too Many Sopranos, and Abby Bordon in Lizbeth. I have also performed the solos in numerous oratorios and often appear as a guest soloist for other works, most recently Oratorio de Noël by Camille Saint-Saens at Goucher College and Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten for Towson Presbyterian Church.

I feel strongly that the first goal of an instructor should be to teach musicians how to be their own best teacher. That means learning more than healthy technique and expressiveness, so I also teach how to practice, music theory, and sight reading. I will help you to listen to your own body in finding the best technique, safely experiment with new skills, and find deeper meaning and nuance in your music.”

Lindsay Nuesca is a long-time member of the Bach in Baltimore Choir.
