Rising chef Brian O’Donnell worked at Providence’s Café Nuovo prior to opening this 32-seat hot spot with his wife in 2015, and the daily rotating menu is fabulous. Fresh-baked Irish brown bread acts as a prelude to every meal, and the cocktail list includes a daily shrub. And while the seafood is (predictably) all local, O’Donnell’s inspirations span the globe: pan-seared tuna might come curry-style with a rice cake, while a Tuscan shellfish panzanella tosses mussels and lobster with herb-covered corn bread. There’s also a raw bar with picks from around the state; and inventive twists on bar snacks, like baby Lollo Rossa salad with guanciale, rye-cured trout, and pickled shrimp.
