 Up for bid, "Orchid and a Bird" 18" x 15" oil with palette knife, by artist HeeJune Shin.

"I am always fascinated by what light does to the colors. In this painting, I was pursuing the variations of color white in light and shadow. A white marble bird was purposely placed. I found this small replica bird at the Acropolis Museum in Greece."

HeeJune Shin is a modern colorist in the tradition of impressionists. She paints wtih a palette knife which adds unique texture and feeling of intimacy to the painting.
