Item Description

Movie Studio Cards were very popular during the 1920s to the 1960s. When you would write to a studio or celebrity, it was very common to be sent a 5x7 of the celebrity with a facsimile signature.

DESCRIPTION: In this lot are 3 original vintage movie photo cards:

Olive Borden began in films with Mack Sennett at 15 as a bathing beauty and made several films for Fox. Borden made films for Columbia and RKO until 1934 when she retired with 65 movie credits. She joined the WACS. After the war Borden became an alcoholic and died in 1947 at the age of 40 in a home for destitute women. Marceline Day made her first film appearance with her sister

Alice Day in 1924 in Mack Sennetts Picking Peaches. She went on to appear in major films such as London After Midnight and the Cameraman making 64 film credits. Day had problems with talkies and retired in 1933.

Dorothy Mackaill was born in England and as a troubled teen at 16 ran away to London to become a dancer. She soon moved to New York to become part of the Ziegfeld Follies and in 1920 moved to film. From 1920 until 1937 Mackaill had 69 film credits when she retired to take care of her ailing mother. Later she came back to make small appearances in 2 tv series.
