Item Description

Movie Studio Cards were very popular during the 1920s to the 1960s. When you would write to a studio or celebrity, it was very common to be sent a 5x7 of the celebrity with a facsimile signature.

DESCRIPTION: In this lot are 3 original vintage movie photo cards:

Alice Joyce ran away to New York as a teen and worked as telephone operator and model until joining Kalem in 1910 at the age of 20. Joyce worked with several different studios during her film career which lasted from 1910 until 1930 with her amassing a tremendous 209 film credits.

Corinne Griffith started her film career in 1916 with Vitagraph and became a major silent star. Griffith could not adjust to talkies and is credited with 71 films between 1916 and 1932, but she did not fade away. Griffith invested in real estate and became one of the wealthiest women in the U.S.

Alice White started in film as a script girl for Charlie Chaplin. Chaplin helped her get a film debut as an extra in the Thief of Bagdad. She received a contract at First National and became known as Warner Bros answer to Clara Bow . White is credited with 44 films from 1926 to 1942 but was involved with several sex scandals ending her career. She made a final film in 1949 and appeared in 1958 on the Ann Sothern Show. White went back to being a secretary.
