Item Description

Movie Studio Cards were very popular during the 1920s to the 1960s. When you would write to a studio or celebrity, it was very common to be sent a 5x7 of the celebrity with a facsimile signature.

DESCRIPTION: In this lot are 3 original vintage movie photo cards:

Lewis Stone joined the Army at a young age during the Spanish American War, serving as a Lt. Following his discharge Stone began his film career with 8 years with the Oliver Morosco Stock Company before re-entering the military for WWI, where he served as Major . After the war, he returned to filming with various studios until 1924 when he joined the newly formed MGM. He continued there until his death in 1953 amassing 152 film credits.

John Barrymore grew up in a theatre family and around the stage at a very early age. Barrymore began working in film in the early 1910s as fill-in and small parts but preferred the stage. By the 1920s he was a regular going back and forth between film and stage. Before his death in 1942, Barrymore amassed 66 film credits. Additional film legends in his family were sister Ethel BarryMore, brother Lionel Barrymore and granddaughter Drew Barrymore.

William Collier Jr. made his first appearance on stage at the age of 7 and his first movie role at the age of 14. Collier appeared in many films as a child actor and able to make the transition to leading man and to sound. Collier is credited with 87 film roles from 1916 to 1935 when he retired from acting to become a producer.

CONDITION: All 3 are in Very Good to Very Good+ with some slight edge wear and storage curves due to age.
