Item Description

Movie Studio Cards were very popular during the 1920s to the 1960s. When you would write to a studio or celebrity, it was very common to be sent a 5x7 of the celebrity with a facsimile signature.

DESCRIPTION: In this lot are 3 original vintage movie photo cards:

William Boyd's father died when he was a teen so Boyd left school to help support the family. They moved to California so he could pick oranges and soon he began to do extra work in films to earn money. He was in almost 40 films before he had his breakout role in 1925. He became a major actor until 1931 when his photo was accidently published as a criminal. In 1935, Boyd was able to get the part to play Hop-Along Cassidy which changed his life. Boyd is credited with 143 film credits from 1918 to 1954.

Nick Stuart was born in Romania and moved to the U.S. when he was 9. In the mid 1920s Stuart began working at Fox studio doing odd work. Slowly he began to appear as extras in shorts and worked his way up to major roles. In the mid 1930s Stuart introduced his band. Stuart was in 51 film from 1925 to 1958. He retired to open a clothing store in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Milton Sills made his film debut in 1914 with the World Film Co. and worked with several studios such as Metro, Pathe and Famous Players to get to leading man status. From 1914 to 1930 Sills appeared in 87 films when he died from a heart attack at the age of 48.

CONDITION: All 3 are in Very Good to Very Good+ with some slight edge wear and storage curves due to age.
