ABOUT SUE COUPER

As a professional coach, Sue Couper draws on knowledge acquired during her many years as a business leader. Throughout her career as a consultant for Pricewaterhousecoopers (PwC), an international professional services firm, she advised executives, managers and entrepreneurs and developed a deep understanding of the qualities shared by effective leaders. The lessons learned during her years as a consultant informs her coaching and leadership development approach.

As a consultant, she advised executives, managers, business owners, and entrepreneurs acquiring useful insights into the challenges of leaders, both new and experienced. With her front row seat in many board rooms, executive offices, and team meetings, she gained knowledge of the qualities shared by effective leaders. She knows how important individual and team development is in growing a business, creating an inclusive work environment and creating a culture of trust and caring for each other. Her own deep experience informs her coaching leadership development approach, having been in the shoes of many of her clients, both as a leader of her own practice and as a consultant with a front row seat in scores of businesses.

Sue was the PwC Seattle office Diversity Partner.  In this role, she led diversity programs to create a workplace where all employees would feel invited to give their talents wholly.  Her success in this role was a result of her own personal experiences as an underrepresented demographic in Business School, in the board room and in her profession.  She has an understanding that workplaces benefit from different perspectives which foster a higher degree of engagement and innovation.

Sue served for many years as faculty for the National PwC professional development program, leading technical training as well as leadership development programs. As such, she facilitated courses on communication skills, leadership, giving and receiving feedback, building a personal brand, Emotional Intelligence (EQ), DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), working with both team and individuals.

Past Adjunct Professor, Seattle University, School of Business, MBA program.

In addition to executive development work with Henley Leadership Group, she is currently on the faculty of SeattleCoach coaching certification program, providing credentialing training for the coaching profession.
