Item Description
"Coin Cod" by Steven London
Medium: Copper, Zinc, pennies, dimes
Size: 19" x 8"
Artist Statement:
In a "change" from past cod entries, I went with a more traditional art. Layers of coins with a small hidden treasure. Somewhere is a single Canadian Penny, surrounded by Lincoln's and Roosevelts. However, none are valid currency now; for the sake of art.
Artist Biography:
I'm a maker and an innovator. Tinkering is my passion. Warrantees are voided all the time. Not inserting some type of tech into this cod was a real departure for me. Creation involved acid etch cleaning, precise drilling and placement of every coin. Every head points the same way except for the treasure coin. Can you find it?
Hosting Business: "Coin Cod" is on display at Ray Art, 51 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead, MA
