Artist Statement:

Marblehead has many scenic landscapes. It seems fitting to paint one of them on this beautiful cod. This is an oil landscape of a Regatta Race on a beautiful summer day off the coast of Marblehead.

Artist Biography:

Born in Massachusetts, Paula Cardarelli has always had a passion and appreciation for New England landscapes and designs. Basically a self-taught artist, Paula earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a BSN in Nursing. Although she has a career in Nursing much of her free time has been devoted to art. As a child, Paula would diligently journal her days and often added detailed sketches using pencil and charcoal. In her late teens, she started to experiment with different mediums and fell in love with the vibrant colors and flexibility of oils. Excited by the idea that she could express herself and translate the beauty of what she saw-- even in a fleeting moment--into something more timeless, she began painting with oil on canvas en plein air. Paula has been painting realistic landscapes since 1980. Like nursing, painting is a journey centered in love and compassion and that is what she often transcribes into her final work.

Item Special Note

Pick-up of purchased cods will be July 9-14 at MacRea's Goods, 108 Washington St, Marblehead during normal store hours. The winning bidder will receive a notification email with information on pick-up time and location.

If winning bidder requires shipping, winner's credit card will be charged a separate $24.95 fee to cover USPS ground and handling. Shipping is available within the U.S. only and must be requested within 7 days after receipt of the notification email.

Any cod purchased via "Buy Now" will remain on display at the hosting business through the end of the auction, and will be available for pick-up as detailed in the winning bidder notification email.

If winning bidder has not picked up cod (or provided shipping address) within 30 days after the close of the auction, cod will become the property of Marblehead Festival of Arts, Inc.
