Item Description

This is a group of early photographs taken by Andre De Dienes, who was the first photographer to take her photo long before she became famous. Dienes became obsessed with her and supposedly took over 4000 photos. Dienes released several books of those photographs over the years and died in 1985.

DESCRIPTION: This special lot contains 26 double sided photographs on a light card stock. These are all early photographs before she changed her name to Marilyn Monroe. These cards measure 6 x 8 and each side is perfectly centered.

ODDITY: These are not hand cut with 2 corners squared and 2 corners rounded on each card. It looks like they came in a box set where the rounded edges would be on the outside. Also: Dienes name is partially on 4 of the shots which apparently was quite common with his work.

CONDITION: Very Good + to Excellent SEE IMAGES.
