Item Description
This bowl was started by the late Kauai Master Woodturner Les Ventura and was finish turned by Kauai woodturner Robin Clark. It measures 17.75x3 inches and has a food safe hard wax finish. Pheasant wood (Cassia siamea) was introduced to Hawaii from Southeast Asia and is a beautiful flowering tree. It has a beautiful figure on flat-sawn faces that mimics the tail feathers of the pheasant. This is a rare item as pheasant wood is not commonly available in logs large enough for a bowl of this size.
