Patricia G. Faulkner feels the natural world is a continuing source of inspiration for the pieces she creates. Working from photographs Patricia tries to not only capture object or subject but also create a mood. Drawing the viewer into the artwork is one of her objectives. Her work has been published in two books and exhibited in numerous juried shows. This piece was inspired by a photograph of this butterfly in the artist's garden. The artwork is hand appliquéd and machine quilted. Embellishments of embroidery, beading and ink work were also added.
