Steven Wiseman is a retired mechanical contractor with a lifetime hobby of woodworking. He started woodturning about twenty five years ago and immediately fell in love with the medium. It continued as a hobby until his retirement almost seven years ago. Wiseman became devoted to turning by creating wood works and learning to teach and promote the process. His work has been exhibited at the Fuller Craft Museum, AAM, South Shore Art Center and Arnold Arboretum.

This piece was turned from a stump of a fallen maple tree located in Marshfield, MA. The tree had been dead several years creating the character of the wood.
