Margo Lemieux has worked as graphic designer, children's book writer, illustrator, printmaker, among other interesting jobs. She has presented workshops at the AAM, Fuller Craft Museum, Cone Craft Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Hang Do Studio in Hanoi, Vietnam, and Lake Mead National Park. Recently she retired as a professor emerita from the art & graphic design department of Lasell University. Her series Mist/Missed will be on view in the AAM Community Gallery October 5th - 29th, 2022.
Margo Lemieux's spring was enlivened by a family of 3 foxes in the backyard. This colored pencil drawing on Canson paper captures the mischievous character of the smallest. The poet Jane Hirshfield wrote in her poem "Three Foxes by the Edge of the Field at Twilight:" One never moved, except to turn her head a little as we walked. Finally we drew too close, and they vanished. The woods took them back as if they had never been. Ending… Something looks back from the trees, and knows me for who I am.
