John A. Fazzino, of RI received a BFA from RISD in 1986 and an MFA from UMass Dartmouth in 1989. John has shown his work extensively during his art career and has received awards and fellowships from the RI State Council of the Arts, and various other galleries. John received a First Place Award, for his piece, "Cepheisd"; a work consisting of 3 separate concave platters colorfully glazed and hung on the wall.
"Red Blaze Platter" is made with stoneware clay and multiple glazes layered and overlapped to create textual depth on the surface. This platter sits on 3 legs or feet lifting it from the surface. It can easily feel comfortable on the table for food service or outdoors for the birds to enjoy. In addition, this piece is equipped with a wire hanger which would allow it to be displayed on a wall if desired.
