Item Description

12" x 15" x 1.5"

Kristin Capezio is a photographer currently living in Norwood, MA. Her work centers on the natural landscape; she prefers using a macro lens to capture the intricate and often symbiotic relationships among flora and fauna. In addition to photography, she also dabbles in writing short fiction and poetry. She owns three rescue dogs with her partner, Josh, whom they often refer to as their "kids."

"Layered" is a close soft print of an aloe plant with thorns. Tonally, it's a monochromatic, natural green color palette. The frame is a rustic style with a complementary tone with white a matte. The picture symbolizes the complex nature of human relationships, often layered and not without their points of pain. The aloe leaves are connected by a common foundation but they have grown to individual sizes. Even with a common start, sometimes you can outgrow your closest relationships. And that's painful, too.
