Lisa Granata holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art, an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a year's study in Florence, Italy at Studio Arts College International. Lisa is an adjunct professor at Dean College, Lasell University and she instructs a variety of studio art classes at the AAM. Her art exhibition record includes galleries and museums on the east coast, mid-west and in Italy.
"Save the Turtles" was created using layers of collage. The artist used a portion of a map, layers of acrylic paint, printed text and a printed linocut of a turtle. The subject matter was clearly chosen to promote awareness of saving the turtles. Sea turtles are important to the environment and an integral part of marine ecosystems.
