Leah Mahiri is a local Attleboro artist, and aspiring author and illustrator who graduated from RISD. She is also currently an art teacher at Grace Baptist Christian Academy. She has shown her work in multiple AAM shows over the last 4 years including the Flower Show exhibits. She works primarily in watercolor and colored pencils but enjoys working in many mediums. Nature is her favorite subject matter to explore, trying to capture just a little of God's brilliance on paper.
"Hydrangea" is inspired by the beauty of spring in the artist's New England darden. She loves to photograph her garden flowers and tries to recreate them in a more abstract watercolor, allowing the paint to help in the creation.
