Item Description
In 1959, Rodney Strong Vineyards became Sonoma County's 13th bonded Winery. Rodney Strong was a visionary winemaker and the winery has a history of firsts—First to craft a single-vineyard Cabernet from the Alexander Valley, First to see the potential of Chalk Hill for Chardonnay, First to plant Pinot Noir in the Russian River Valley.
Now owned by the Klein Family, 5th generation vintners, Rodney Strong Vineyards focuses on modern artisan winemaking, exclusively from Sonoma County, California. The family-owned winery is committed to quality wines and to protecting our resources for the future. They are solar powered, certified sustainable, practice Fish Friendly Farming and were the first to offcially offset their carbon footprint in Sonoma County.
The winning bidder receives a tour and tasting for 2 people and 2 Magnums of wine:
2018 Rodney Strong Reserve Chardonnay
The 2018 vintage Reserve Chardonnay has wonderful aromas of baked apple, pineapple and warm baking spices. On the palate, the creamy lemon meringue and nutmeg notes are well balanced by a crisp acidity and a rich mouthfeel. Enjoy this Chardonnay now with cheese ravioli and cream sauce, herb crusted halibut or cellar it for enjoyment over the next decade.
2017 Rodney Strong Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Rich, lush and structured, the 2017 vintage displays intense aromas of black currant, cassis and crushed violet. This wine is velvety with a smooth, lingering finish of herbal notes, vanilla and cocoa. Enjoy this wine now with a grilled porterhouse, rack of lamb, a winter vegetable roast or lay it down in your cellar to enjoy in 4 to 6 years.
