Item Description
"Cooper's Hawk" is an orginal watercolor painting, by local artist Ana Hedberg. This bird portrait is after a photograph taken by NRWA Education Associate Gaynor Bigelbach. The bird in that photograph is a resident of our Nashua River watershed.
The Cooper's Hawk is a forest dweller, also known to venture into woodsy neighborhoods and backyards. The bird has the long tail and short rounded wings typical of an Accipiter. This type of hawk has evolved for hunting in a forested area, ambushing prey at close quarters. The Accipiter flies with quick acceleration, quick turns and quick stops.
The painting measures 12" wide x 16" high, and is unmatted and unframed. Our hawk awaits your choices for framing.
