Have you ever longed for something that you can wear or carry with you that is a part of someone or a pet that you loved and lost? Ashbeads are a timeless momento, in the form of a beautiful glass bead with ashes embedded in the design. Merry Coor, owner of Talisman Beads in Eureka, has generously donated a gift certificate and Ashbead Kit so that she can personally create an Ashbead for you with your loved one's ashes. 
 
Each Ashbead is unique.  Merry's signature "swirl" design is seen on both sides of the Lentil Ash Bead.   The winning bidder will work with Merry to create a lentil-shaped bead in small, medium or large, with a sterling silver chain.  The Lentil Ash Bead has a flattened backside.  Some people prefer this as they want a bead to lay flat against their chest, rather than bounce around as a round bead would.  Every bead is handmade with care and respect.  See the Ash Bead website for more information.
 
Ash Beads allow you to have your loved one close to you.  They are a tangible memory of your loved one.  Whether you wear your bead or keep it tucked away, the ash inside is perfectly sealed in a layer of high quality glass.  They can be comforting, they can be freeing.  Ash beads are there for you when you need a touch stone, or a talisman, and they can be given as gifts and shared with others. 
 
The artist, Merry Coor, encourages people getting an Ashbead to provide a photo, letter or story about your loved one that you'd like to share, along with the ashes.  She will keep your story close as she creates your special Ashbead, meditating on the love that was given and received during the lifetime of your loved one.
 
Sizes:  You get to choose which size.
Lentil Bead sizes are approximately 10 mm thick, by:
Small = 9/16" diameter (size of a skittle)
Medium = 11/16” diameter (size of a dime)
Large = 12/16" diameter (size of a nickel)

The winning bidder may pick up this item between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday at the Breast and GYN Health Project, 987 8th Street, Arcata, CA (Next to the Arcata Co-op). Masks are requested. Special pick-up times can be arranged: call 707-825-8345 or email Rosegz@hcbhp.org. We are willing to make arrangements for after-hours and weekend pick-ups. We will be closed on November 24th and 25th for Thanksgiving.

Please be advised that the USPS's temporary shipping rates are in effect this year. Bidder is responsible for any shipping costs. When possible, we plan to ship in USPS Flat Rate Boxes. BGHP will contact the highest bidder to discuss shipping details.
