Item Description

Brian Bent, is the ever-eclectic, self-taught artist, musician, surfer, hot rod enthusiast skateboarder, designer, builder (the list goes on). Whether through music, surfing, writing, painting, sculpting, car building, or whatever else sets his soul afire, Brian undoubtedly brings his electric energy to all he touches.

Over the years, Bent--who cut his teeth creating playful, interactive and cutting-edge interiors for Becker Surfboards --has developed his own idiosyncratic painting style. Working fastidiously and using bold, expressionist strokes, Bent’s paintings evoke an augmented reality that both soothes and evokes high levels of energetic joy. Bent’s work has been published many times over and has had much success in galleries and exhibits worldwide.

If you’ve ever been to “The Point” at San Onofre State Beach, there’s a chance you’ve seen a guy on a huge longboard called a “Kook Box” surfing in a sweater and a sailor hat. That’s Brian Bent, a local surfer with a unique style.

Brian is a true inspiration working with various creative fields, developing a recognizable style that is inspired by the early 60s. He is an artist, surfer, skater and a minister at the Hod Rod church. He paints on most of his clothes, cars, boards, skates, and other available canvases.
