In a changing world, people hold the power to protect our oceans from the perilous issues like coral bleaching, sea temperature rise, and declining biodiversity. In this board, designed and painted by renowned marine life artist and conservationist Wyland, the artist offers a cautionary glimpse at the future to avoid at all costs. “Surfers are among the most extreme athletes in the world,” Wyland said. “Instead of my traditional representational marine life, this year I wanted to paint something for Surfers Healing influenced by the street art imagery of my colleague OG Slick to remind us all of the extreme urgency to protect our climate, our oceans, and our blue planet itself. Like most other surfers and environmentalists, my foundation and I are committed to bringing people together everywhere for a sustainable future for our oceans and waterways.”
The board is titled “Our Future, Our Choice”.
Item Special Note
Payment will be processed post-contest and winner will be contacted by the resort.
Packing, shipping, and handling are not included. Boards can be picked up at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel or the purchaser can arrange for shipping. Boards will be available for pick-up and shipping after Monday, January 2, 2023. Boards must be picked up no later than Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
