Item Description
From the cellars of Raj Bhakta, founder of WhistlePig Whiskey comes BHAKTA Armagnac. Bhakta 50 is incredibly rare and highly collectable!
Fifty years at its youngest?and more than one hundred fifty at its oldest?BHAKTA 50, the flagship offering of BHAKTA Spirits, carries a jaw-dropping age statement nearly unimaginable in a market which considers a whiskey ?old and rare? at the adolescent age of twelve or thirteen. Only 38 barrels will ever be produced, each a blend of 8 Armagnac vintages spanning from 1868 - 1970, and finished in a Scotch Whisky cask.
Barrel 29 ?de Gaulle? is named for French statesman Charles de Gaulle, whose long career serving France as Brigadier General, Prime Minister, and President ran concurrently with the distillation?on his home soil?of this very spirit. Crafted from eight different Armagnac vintages?including 1965, the year de Gaulle was elected to his second term as president, with this barrel, we toast to the strong-willed leaders who shape history.
