Best Guess for Age: 1 year 10 months as of May 2021   SEX:  Female

Approximate Weight:  40 lbs.

Tori is Looking For:  Her very own forever family, to give her all the love and attention she deserves - and to take all the kisses she has to give! Now that Tori has recovered from heartworm treatment she is ready to run and play again like the young girl she is! Tori loves the dog park as well as long sniffy walks, but she's open to going on adventures --- maybe even splashing through creeks and exploring whether she likes swimming! Tori is still learning to trust humans, but having a doggo companion in the home helps her and she's already grown so much with the help of her foster sibling.

Special adoption considerations: Tori tested positive for heartworm in 2020 and was treated in June 2020. She has fully recovered. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life-threatening, but after treatment and recovery, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in-depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process. 

Additionally, Tori was quite shy when she arrived in the shelter. She has been growing more confident but must go to a home with a resident dog. She cannot go to a home with children under the age of 12. 

Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested; Tori cannot go to a home with children

What my foster says about me!: Tori loves training and is currently enrolled in a training class to learn healthy play habits with her doggo friends and eventually start to go to daycare! Plus, this training class will teach her how to walk on the leash like a perfect pup! She loves short trips to the dog park and will let you know when it's time to go home to take a snooze. She loves healthy snacks like peppers, broccoli, and apples. When she hears the cutting board she will show off her pretty sit skills! She has learned to also stay and shake and is working on lie down! Tori loves to snuggle and is a big snorer. She is extremely athletic and will make the perfect hiking companion or even agility competitor with a motivated adopter!
