Item Description
Read more below to learn about Memphis Artist Peg Holton from her own bio:
"I am a self- taught ceramic artist currently living and creating in midtown Memphis. I was introduced to pottery when I took a weekend wheel throwing class at Garden Path Studios 10 years ago. What I thought would be a fun weekend playing with clay, has become a big part of my life. Since that introductory class I have created a studio in my home where friends, family and neighbors come to play with clay.
My recent retirement has afforded me the time to expand my work to include animal sculptures and whimsical busts of famous people. It was a big learning curve but several generous artists I connected with online have been willing to share ideas and various sculpture methods with me.
I have been a member of the Memphis Arts Collective for 8 years and a Board Member for the last 3 years.
I have sold my work through MAC, at the Cooper Young Festival, V & E Greenline Art Walk, Buntyn Art Walk and Cooper Young Farmers Market. Two years ago, I organized the Annesdale Snowden Art Walk which was very successful and is now going to be an annual event. My work can be found at Arrow Creative and on my website: 4potterpeg.wixsite.com/mlcpottery."
