Item Description
Studies in the American Renaissance. Edited by Joel Myerson. The University Press of Virginia. Two volumes: 1995 and 1996. Annual volumes featuring collections of a variety of essays. The previous owner kept these for the two articles by Bradley P. Dean and Ronald Wesley Hoag that outline Thoreau's lectures. The 1995 volume includes the article about Thoreau's lectures BEFORE the publication of Walden; the 1996 volume deals with his lectures AFTER Walden. Hardcover books are of red and black cloth with gilt letters on the spines. The book block has some light foxing on page edges, and some highlighting appears in the text. Still a terrific and uncommon reference source.
