thehouse is a modern- day interpretation of a traditional supper club, where the chairman beauty of Newport Harbor is the backdrop for a sophisticated dining experience promoting a quintessential California lifestyle.

What are the benefits of membership?
Everything at thehouse will be “cost plus 10”. In other words, the price you pay for anything you purchase at thehouse will be just 10% over the ingredient cost that the club actually pays. For instance, with “cost plus 10,” a delicious Cedar Plank Coho Salmon is $11.00. At Mastro’s it would sell for $43 plus tip. As for cocktails, a generous Belvedere on the rocks might cost you $18 plus tip or more elsewhere, but at thehouse, it is $4.

What is included in membership dues?
Participation fee for the Distinguished Clubs Network.
Valet service.
Dock valet service (250 feet of dock space).

What is the Distinguished Clubs Network?
Because thehouse will be built to the highest standards of the Distinguished Club award program, it will open as an awarded Distinguished Club from day one. Accordingly, thehouse will be part of the Distinguished Clubs Network (DCN).

Through an online platform that showcases clubs and facilitates visitation arrangements, DCN provides concierge-level service to DCN participating members who seek visits to some of the finest clubs and most exclusive venues in the world.

Play golf at some of the most storied courses in the country and parts the world. Stay at historic city clubs located in the heart of the country’s most dynamic cities.Savor seaside dining at renowned yacht clubs. Additional opportunities include tennis, spa treatments, meeting facilities and special events.

What's the food going to be like?
Because we are inspired by the quality and consistency of Hillstone restaurants (e.g., Bandera, Gulf Stream, R+D Kitchen, etc.), we’re excited to announce that our culinary team will be led by Anderson Clark and Brian Douglass, the founding partners of CS Hospitality, with CS's Culinary Director, Sam Deckman.

Anderson and Brian managed with Hillstone for a combined 13 years in New York City, San Francisco, Miami, Palm Beach, Aspen, Los Angeles, and Newport Beach. In his tenure at Hillstone, Brian served as General Manager of 9 Hillstone Restaurants, including regional level oversight in Miami and Newport Beach. After Hillstone, Anderson went on to work for Catch to open Catch Mexico and Catch Los Angeles. The pair now own Farmer & The Seahorse and Common Stock, two highly successful restaurants in San Diego.

As for Sam, he has worked in multiple Michelin starred establishments, including Gary Danko in San Francisco, Maximo Bistrot in Mexico City, Hotel Adlon in Berlin, Deckman's in Berlin, and Deckman's in Valle Guadalupe, Baja California. We are thrilled to have Sam as our in-house execution expert, helming our kitchen teams.

Together, this culinary power team is currently crafting a spectacular menu for thehouse, one that will feel familiar to anyone who has ever frequented a Hillstone eatery, but with an unique flare that the team has especially envisioned.

Item Special Note

- thehouse Newport Beach and its owners have final approval of membership into the club (if not approved, purchase will be refunded).

- If members are approved, dues are $400 monthly. 

- Membership begins when club approves the winner. Application must be submitted by 4/1/2023. 

- Must be 21 years old or older.

- A portion of this proceed will benefit NHEF.
