Nathaniel's Restaurant at the Hawthorne Hotel offers a perfect start and end to any day. In 1668, merchant and shipowner John Turner I, and his wife Elizabeth Robinson Turner, built a house on Salem Harbor that was destined to become one of America's most beloved historic homes. Designated a National Historic Landmark District in 2007, The House of the Seven Gables is best known today as the setting of world-renowned American author Nathaniel Hawthorne's 1851 novel. But it is so much more! Learn about four centuries of inclusive history at one of America's most beloved historic homes.

The House of the Seven Gables Museum Campus was designated as a National Historic Landmark District in 2007. Our seaside campus consists of 2 acres of land, seaside colonial revival gardens, and several historic buildings. In addition to preserving and maintaining our campus, the organization cares for over 3,000 works of art, furnishings, and ephemera as well as an archive with thousands of documents, books, and mixed media.

If desired, you can acquire tickets in advance by visiting the "Tickets" page on the website and using the discount code on the back of each pass.

When planning your visit, please note that the complimentary passes are NOT valid in October and all advanced registrations are final and cannot be rescheduled.

To redeem the complimentary passes, you must also bring the passes to The Gables, even if you have scheduled tours in advance.
