This certificate is for an hour of tutoring in the subjects of math, science, and/or engineering plus twenty minutes of whole-student health coaching for ages 10+. Located in Venice, CA, in-person tutoring can take place within 5 miles of Walgrove Elementary, at your home, or at Rebecca's.

My approach to tutoring is one that empowers students to become the best version of themselves. By meeting each student just past the edge of their comfort zone, and by asking intentional questions, I prompt students to work through difficult concepts using their own unique mental processes. This fosters their cognitive growth and strengthens their capacity to work through challenges, giving them both competence and confidence in the curriculum and in life.

About Rebecca Chou:
When I took calculus in high school, something inside of me sparked. This led me to Georgia Tech and a degree (plus a brief career) in structural engineering. I later earned a master's degree in teaching physics which launched me into what has now been over a dozen years in the education field. I have taught in public high schools (traditional and charter), in non-traditional classes of all ages, and as a tutor. In 2016, I cofounded EverWild, a local nature immersion program. I continue to teach math, physics, and engineering to a wide range of students (and often spontaneously) to which I love to incorporate my other interests such as philosophical thinking, crafting and art, music, nature, self-growth, and more.

All orders are subject to a $.50 shipping and handling fee. This fee will be automatically added to your total purchase when the auction closes. Gift certificates will be sent via USPS or email if applicable. If you win an item and would like it mailed via certified insured mail, please email auction@friendsofwalgrove.com by March 23, 2023 and we will do so at your expense. If you would like to pick up an item, please contact us by March 23rd, otherwise we will ship your item.

Larger items can be picked up in Los Angeles, CA or shipped at the winning bidder's expense via USPS Priority Mail. $9 for large envelopes, $16 for medium boxes, $22 for large boxes. Some items do not fit into these categories and you will be notified. We will try to use the smallest package size we can. We will insure packages when shipping; however, Friends of Walgrove is not responsible for items lost in the mail.
