Item Description
This piece is a show stopper! The color combinations are beautiful, organic, joyful pops of color. Definitely a statement piece, which would instantly elevate a space. This is a peice of Modern Art. Priceless. This hand wet felted wool pillow is approx 14"x16" with Bella Notte cotton velvet sewn back, a zipper closure and goose down insert.
SunRidge's First Grade class took turns wet felting natural undyed wool roving into wool felt fabric to form the front of the their feltted pillow. The accents are from Wensleydale wool, a natural curly wool extra soft with a lusterous sheen. The accents are plant & natural dyes: Weld, Indigo, Oxalis, Logwood, Woad, Cochineal, plus various mushrooms and lichens were used to create the dyed wool. The wool and accents were provided by Judith Ashley of Wild Rose Farm in Sebastopol, CA. Judith Ashley is part of our SunRidge community, she has grandshildren in 1st and 3rd grade.
Item Special Note
Pick up/shipping information: At auction close, item will be available for pick up in Sebastopol, CA on the designated pick up days or it can be mailed at the winning bidder’s expense.
Items are shipped via Priority Mail Flat Rate Shipping with the United States Postal Service. If the item(s) do(es) not fit into a Flat Rate Shipping box, the item(s) will be boxed into an appropriate box and the best shipping option will be chosen by the auction shipping team. If more than one item is won, we will combine shipping. Insurance will be added to the shipping costs. Winning bidder is responsible for all fees and billed at standard industry rates.
For planning, note that the pick-up days are Wed, April 5th, 2023 from 2:00-6:00 pm, and Thursday, April 6th, 2023 from 12:40-3:00pm at SunRidge School in Sebastopol, California. All information and details about pick up times and location will be given in the auction closing email.
