High bidder will win a signed copy of Wild Plants I Have Known and Eaten, a small jar of toasted Shagbark Hickory nuts (the author's #1 favorite wild edible species), and a bag of unshelled Shagbark Hickory nuts suitable for cracking open and eating on the spot or incorporating the shelled nuts into different dishes. There will be more than enough nuts in the bag to make a Maple Hickory-Nut Pie (one of the recipes in in the book).
The author will add a customized note, along with his signature, in the book, thanking the winning bidder for their support of the Thoreau Society.
