Item Description
From a genus of jellyfishes: Ocular coral front and back, 2012-23, inkjet print and etched glass, 27.5 in x 47 in
Kusntstoff translated from German is another word for plastic. The word Kunst on it's own means art. For numerous years I have used plastic recycling packages to create waste molds for one of a kind plaster casts. The photographed sculptures are inspired by the drawings of the late 19th Century German naturalist Ernst Haeckel, author of Art Forms from the Ocean and Art Forms in Nature.

« Kunststoff » est un mot allemand qui désigne le plastique. En soi, le mot « Kunst » veut dire « art ». Pendant des années, j’ai utilisé des paquets de plastique recyclables pour créer des moules sacrificiels de pièces uniques en plâtre. Ces photographies de sculptures sont inspirées des dessins du naturaliste allemand de la fin du XIXe siècle Ernst Haeckel, artiste de Formes artistiques de la nature.
