From heraldic painter to war artist, Karen’s diverse career spans four decades. During 2022, Karen Bailey exhibited her series “The Last Stable in Lowertown: Cundell Stables” at the Ottawa School of Art, Downtown Campus and “Portraits of The Ottawa Mission” at the Ottawa Art Gallery. The painting “She wondered who she would be next” represents a contemplative pause before Karen embarks upon a new creative journey.

De peintre héraldique à artiste de guerre, la carrière diversifiée de Karen s’étend sur quarante ans. En 2022, elle expose sa série La dernière écurie de la Basse-Ville | écuries Cundell à l’École d’art d’Ottawa, campus du centre-ville, et Portraits de la Mission d’Ottawa à la Galerie d’art d’Ottawa. Karen Bailey is a visual storyteller As an appointed war artist in Afghanistan and official portrait painter of the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, her emphasis is on themes of service and community. Karen's paintings focus on behind-the-scenes workers, most recently Cundell Stables and The Ottawa Mission.
