Canadian Patrick Thompson’s work in painting, sculpture and public installation informs his social practice work: Embassy of Imagination and artist collective PA System(with Alexa Hatanaka 2011-2020) and relies on North-South collaboration. Individually and collectively Thompson and PA System have exhibited worldwide at The University of New Mexico Art Museum, Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, Canada House in London and The Art Gallery of Ontario and recently was commissioned to create the work SINAAQPAGIAQTUUT/THE LONG-CUT, a Toronto Biennial of Art exhibition and performance 2,300 km in the making.
Les peintures, sculptures et installations publiques de l’artiste canadien Patrick Thompson influencent son travail social, comme Embassy of Imagination ou son collectif PA System (avec Alexa Hatanaka, de 2011 à 2020), et découlent d’une collaboration entre le Nord et le Sud. Ses œuvres, qu’elles soient en son nom ou au sein du collectif PA System, ont été exposées dans le monde entier, au Musée d’art de l’Université du Nouveau-Mexique, au Centre de culture contemporaine de Barcelone, à la Maison du Canada, à Londres, et au Musée des Beaux-Arts de l’Ontario. Dernièrement, à la demande de la Biennale d’art de Toronto, il a créé l’œuvre SINAAQPAGIAQTUUT/THE LONG-CUT, une performance de 2 300 kilomètres.
