Item Description
(See "In memory of" in "Of Special Note" below. Also please see Note on condition at bottom of this listing). "Discoveries Unlimited" designed and constructed coveted necklaces in the 1970s+. They frequently sold to Saks Fifth Avenue NYC. This piece is one of their signature looks. They used exotic lockets of brass (I think this one is) or gold-plated. I think this locket is from China. I believe the tiny beads may be carnelian. The necklace is approx. 16" from end of clasp to end of clasp. It is 14" without the clasps. It is meant to be worn twisted. NOTE: Since these pieces were strung in the '70s or '80s they may need to be restrung. Restringing will be up to the buyer. I have taken this into account with the pricing- as their pieces used to sell for significantly higher prices.
Item Special Note
In memory of my mother who recently passed from Alzheimer's complications. She and her partner (Discoveries Unlimited) designed and sold to Saks Fifth Avenue NYC and small boutiques in the 1970s and onward. Their work was showcased in the NY Times at one point. A xerox copy mentioning them will be included with the necklace. NOTE AGAIN: As mentioned in listing this was strung in the '70s or '80s and may need restrung. Restringing is up to the buyer.
