Item Description
The elder, 2019, 3D-printed sandstone on painted rock, 8 in x 8 in x 5 in
"The elder" is a one-of-a-kind sculpture made by Paluzzi that was featured in his exhibition "The little prince" at Karsh-Masson Gallery in Ottawa in 2021.
To create the characters in Paluzzi’s translation of "The little prince," his body was 3D-scanned by one hundred and thirty cameras. The digital textures of his skin were then manipulated and morphed into the seven characters -- of which "The elder" is one. Afterwards, these digital renderings were 3D-printed in sandstone and photographed stereoscopically in Paluzzi’s studio to be placed in a viewmaster. "The elder" is a unique glimpse into the sculptural side of Paluzzi's photo-based practice.
