Item Description
Inspired by original wood wheat grinders of India, the hand carved chakkis provide a unique setting for candles, plants or throw blankets. Some opt to place a piece of glass on top for a low table, or fill with a cotton cushion for an ottoman seat. The chakki wheat grinders were a common feature in homes in Punjab, India, the agricultural region of India. The farmers and their families would grind the grains to make the traditional Indian breads." To transform it into an ottoman, custom fitted cotton cushions in a variety of colors are available from Worldcraft Industries. The Chakkis are solid hard wood throughout. The hand carving on the side of each chakki is unique.
