Item Description
This dessert service was made by the Krautheim & Adelberg Porcelain Factory in Selb, Bavaria, Germany. The set includes a tall, graceful coffeepot with a delicate handle and spout, a small vase, a sugar and creamer, four cups and saucers, and four dessert plates. A large platter completes the set.
The pieces carry the Krautheim, Selb, Bavarian, hallmark. The set is white with winsome pink rosebuds strewn within an embossed band.
Christoph Krautheim opened a porcelain decorating shop in Selb in 1884. Richard Adelberg, his brother-in-law, joined the business in 1889. The shop decorated porcelain blanks made by other companies, but in 1912 Krautheim & Adelberg began making porcelain. This service was purchased in Germany before the factory closed in 1979.
