Item Description
Seventy-seven colorfully painted wooden tiles set in a 22" x 34" wooden frame. Ms. Abrams' 25 First Graders each created 3 wooden tiles + 1 tile each for Ms. Abrams and Ms. Choi.
Story: "What makes First Graders happy?" From mythical creatures to yummy treats or favorite pastimes to favorite airlines, the children used words and drawings to express three things that bring them joy.
Colors: The baselayer paint for each wood tile was individually mixed to create smooth and soothing transitions throughout the artwork. The rainbow colors flow from left to right, and the shades progress from bright and light at the top to deep and rich at the bottom.
Depth: The tiles are stacked to varying heights in a symmetrical, angled pattern, mimicking the geometry seen through a kaleidoscope and creating a soothing sense of depth when viewed at different angles.
Let this one of a kind artwork remind you of the simple joys of life through the creativity and imagination of our precious First Graders!
