Gary Phillips has written comics for the likes of DC, Dark Horse and Boom! Studios. He’s penned new adventures of Kolchak, the Night Stalker and brought back Xal-Kor: The Human Cat, a sixties fandom favorite. Matthew Henson and the Ice Temple of Harlem was his recent rollicking retro pulp novel, and he edited the award-winning anthology The Obama Inheritance: Fifteen Stories of Conspiracy Noir. His 2022 mystery One-Shot Harry has been nominated for a Nero award. He’d also been a staff writer on Snowfall, an FX show streaming on Hulu about crack and the CIA in 1980s South Central.
