Item Description

Private Tortilla Making Class, for up to 10 People

Learn how to make your own flour tortillas with Rachel Ruiz Pollack.  Rachel is a volunteer at Presidio Museum events including Living History, Friday At The Fort, and Saturday Living History Days. In addition, Rachel volunteers with Los Descendientes and is on their Board, and has done workshops in Genealogy for the organization.

This will be a unique experience presented by the Presidio Museum Auction Committee. You will learn the history of flour tortillas, how to prepare the flour, shortening, etc. and Rachel will demonstrate all the preparations.  Then, the group will have the opportunity to make their own tortillas and cook them on the wood burning comal at the Presidio grounds.

For the toppings, we will have butter, Presidio membrillo jam, and a couple of other special surprises.

For up to a group of 10 people. Date will be coordinated with Rachel Pollack, October - February.
