Item Description
Two ceramic bowls, one large and one small by local artist Anne Boisvert.
"My work is frequently described in terms of how it makes people feel. Many people find my ceramics “comfortable” or “agreeable”. I achieve this with the use of round abundant forms, soft lines and edges, and whimsical decorative touches. I throw functional pottery because I want people to not only see, but to touch and feel the pieces and use them in their daily lives.
My main design source is the beauty of the New Hampshire countryside. My colors are earthtones, the blue shades of distant mountains or endless skies, and the greens reminiscent of the long awaited spring. Decorative leaf motifs and tendril like handles animate the pieces. I’m also influenced by the art pottery of the 1930’s and 40’s. I’m drawn to the line, form, and colors."
