Original watercolor of American Kestrels in three stages of life by local artist and VINS employee Emily Blaikie.
Emily is a research technician here at VINS. She began VINS related artwork by creating art for the Forest Canopy Walk in 2019. She is responsible for overseeing the American Kestrel Project where we monitor numerous kestrel nest boxes throughout Vermont and New Hampshire.
About the piece:
This painting is watercolor and gouache paint. It depicts three life stages of the American Kestrel. A five-day old nestling, a 16-day old nestling, and an adult female.
