Item Special Note
From the artist: I've always been isnpried by nature. Being born and raised in Vermont, I've never lived anywehre else, nor would I want to. I began creating jewelry peices about eight years ago and ahve never stopped. I was on a walk one day adn I remember my son picking a dandelion flwoer fo rme. I remember thinking, "I wish I could keep this forever." I went home, began sketching, and came up with my first pendant, did some research on the art of metal clay and from tehre it grew into soemthing I love.
The name of my small business came to me when my son and I were outside on a summer night. it was dark and raining but the moon was full and bright. My then 3-year old son loked up at me and asked, "Mommy, why is the moon crying?" It stuck and we became Crying Moon Creations.
Most of my pieces are inspired by nature and my surroundings. My process is finding an object, sketching the object, carving a silicone mold of the object. The metal clay is pressed into the mold, dried, sanded and further carved. the piece is then fired in a 2000-degree kiln. It's allowed to cool and then I polish the piece and add any finishing touches. all of mypieces are caerfully crafted, each piece is unique and given its own details. No two pieces are exactly alike. My pieces are organic in nature, meaning that they are not a mass produced, perfectly molded piece of jewelry. They may have slight variations in texture and finish.
